About Ewa

Ewa is a psychologist with extensive experience of working psychotherapeutically within different NHS settings. For over 16 years, she has been offering treatment to adults experiencing a wide range of emotional, behavioural and interpersonal difficulties.

What is psychodynamic psychotherapy?

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is an evidence based treatment modality that can offer you a space to explore the underlying causes of your difficulties and to make sense of your emotional experience. In your conversations with a trained psychotherapist, you will be encouraged to speak freely about your feelings, thoughts, needs and desires, so that with the help of your psychotherapist, you can gain an in-depth understanding of your mental states and concerns. This type of talking therapy aims at achieving a fundamental and long-lasting change in personality, leading to a more fulfilling life and interpersonal relationships.

What can I expect from my sessions?

Psychotherapy offered by Ewa takes place in a confidential space and her sensitive and non-judgmental manner allows for establishment of a trusting therapeutic relationship.

Ewa will invite you to say whatever is going through your mind and she will help you notice hidden patterns and meanings in what you are saying or how you are relating to others.  Ewa will not give you advice or tell you what to do but she will encourage curiosity and reflection on your internal world so that you can arrive at your own answers and decisions.

Initial meeting

After an initial brief phone consultation, Ewa offers a preliminary session to get a comprehensive understanding of the difficulties that you wish to address in the treatment. If you agree that the therapeutic approach she offers can be beneficial for you, Ewa will then schedule a regular time every week. The duration of the treatment offered will be discussed with you and be dependent on your needs.
