Melanie practices acupuncture for Fertility and Women's Health and has been practicing this speciality for 10 years and hold a BSc in Acupuncture, as well as receiving clinical training in China, and extensive post graduate training in Fertility.  She is currently working on an Advanced Level Diploma in Fertility Acupuncture.

One of the most important aspects that she feels is necessary to mention is that she was once sitting where you are today. She is fully versed with the pain and intense emotions that go along with trying to conceive and a large amount of empathy is given to her patients which she feels is essential in the healing process.

Like all acupuncturists, a detailed case history will be taken.  However, with Fertility Acupuncture she will also delve into the immune system in great detail along with any previous illnesses one may have experienced, as well as vaginal microbiome history.  She has good relationships with various specialists such as andrologists, immunologists and endocrinologists and will point you in the right direction if this is appropriate.

Increasingly, due to various environmental factors she is seeing more and more men requiring treatment and has post graduate experience in male factor fertility.

She will also give you an honest opinion of how long treatment will be required.  She does
however ask that she be given time to tackle the underlying issues seen on a daily basis and to work on egg and/or sperm quality.  In order to have the best results, treatment will need to take place regularly for a period of months.
